John Dewar & Sons Ltd are delighted to announce Craigellachie 23 Years Old has been awarded Best Whisky in Show at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2015.

Further to this fantastic achievement, Craigellachie 13 Years Old and Craigellachie 23 Years Old both received Double Gold medals in the prestigious competition. The Best Whisky in Show was awarded to Craigellachie 23 Years Old out of an impressive 497 whisky submissions, a vast increase on last year’s 297 entries.

Craigellachie Single Malt launched initially in September 2014 making this a notable accolade for a whisky which has only been available in market for less than a year.

Stephen Marshall, Global Marketing Manager – Single Malts says “‘Drams as tasty as this are few and far between, and it’s great for the folk who grafted to get this out to see that it’s getting global recognition’”.

Now in its 15th year, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the one of leading award programmes in the US and has gained a reputation as the leading gauge for spirits trends and top quality products in the country. An esteemed panel of nationally recognised spirits experts reviewed over 1,580 entries throughout the competition. Judging is based on a blind, consensual procedure, ensuring competitive integrity as it remains the America’s most respected spirits competition.

As recipients of the double gold medal, Craigellachie is invited to be part of a wine and spirits tasting tour hosted and promoted by The Tasting Panel magazine in the US.
